Bridgestone Americas and Pilot Co. announced select travel center locations will offer Bridgestone Fleet Care mobility solutions to provide actionable fleet tire intelligence.

The initial trial phase is scheduled to begin this summer with a rollout of the tire monitoring technology at 200 Pilot and Flying J locations.

Fleets that are customers of its IntelliTire program will be able to benefit from the partnership, Bridgestone reported.

Bridgestone is installing routers, or proprietary hardware, within Pilot and Flying J location canopies to connect with external, valve-mount hardware installed on customers’ commercial tires, and transmit applicable data through IntelliTire software for analysis and tire management recommendations. IntelliTire transmits real-time tire data within two minutes from trucks and buses to fleet managers.

“With a robust footprint and strong fleet relationships, Pilot Co. is the perfect partner to help us develop a connected network that is designed to allow our shared customers to minimize downtime, save on costs and improve driver safety now and in the future,” Chris Ripani, Bridgestone Americas’ president of the commercial tire group, said in a release. — Transport Topics
