Day & Ross Transportation Group broke ground on a terminal in Moncton, New Brunswick, on Aug. 7.

The site will be one of the company’s most innovative facilities, designed to minimize its environmental impact and prioritize the safety of employees, drivers and customers, the company said in a news release. Day & Ross offers truckload, less than truckload and logistics.

The Moncton terminal will enable Day & Ross to handle higher volumes and respond to the growing need for a designated customer pickup zone, company officials said.

Also, the facility will include an enclosed area to allow customers to drive in, out of the weather, when picking up items.

“Moncton is a critical hub for our operations,” CEO Bill Doherty said. “This location will play an important role in our overall growth strategy and will help strengthen our position as a leader in the transportation industry.”

The terminal is scheduled to open in the summer of 2020.
