Montgomery Transport Gives Drivers a Raise

Flatbed operator Montgomery Transport rolled out a new pay package for its existing drivers while also sweetening an incentive program for new drivers.

Montgomery increased by 1 cent per mile its compensation for existing drivers. The Birmingham, Ala.-based carrier said its drivers’ average annual pay was more than $62,000 and the top 10% of drivers earn more than $71,500.

New drivers can earn as much as $10,000 in incentives for meeting certain criteria set for orientation, time on the job, years of experience and safe driving.

This incentive program previously topped out at $8,500. The company also runs its Infinit-i Safety program that offers coats, t-shirts, tents, luggage and other merchandise for points earned.



Montgomery also offers weekly home time, along with comprehensive insurance and a 401 (k) program with employer matching.
