Paccar Gets CARB Engine Certification

Truck maker Paccar Inc. said it has received certification from the California Air Resources Board for its Paccar MX 12.9 liter engine, its first heavy-duty engine.

Paccar, the parent company of Kenworth Truck Co. and Peterbilt Motors Co., said the engine is now certified in all 50 states.

Paccar is importing the engines from its Dutch subsidiary DAF Trucks NV until demand picks up enough to justify opening the new engine factory it built near Columbus, Miss.
