Volvo Group appointed Nils Jaeger president of its new autonomous solutions business unit.

Most recently, he was president of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region within Volvo Financial Services since 2014. Before joining Volvo Group, he held several leading positions at John Deere.

In his new role, Jaeger will work to accelerate the development, commercialization and sales of autonomous transport solutions from Gothenburg, Sweden-based Volvo Group.

Autonomous transport solutions, based on self-driving and connectivity technologies, are well-suited for applications in which there is a need to move large volumes of goods and material on predefined routes, in repetitive flows, according to the company. In such situations, autonomous transport solutions can create value for customers by contributing to improved flexibility, delivery precision and productivity. — Transport Topics
