Specialty truck maker Oshkosh Truck Corp.’s fiscal first-quarter profit fell to $41.2 million or 55 cents a share, from $53.1 million or 72 cents a year earlier, the company said Friday.

Patriot Transportation Holding reported net income of $2.2 million or 69 cents a share for its fiscal first quarter, up from $1.9 million or 62 cents a year earlier.

Big thunderstorms and tornadoes blew through central Florida Friday, killing as many as 19 people and causing accidents on interstates, including one that tossed a tractor-trailer airborne, news reports said.

Consumer personal spending rose in December by the most in five months and personal incomes also rose, the Commerce Department said Thursday.
